Routine No 508 - Stress management

Visualize a walk in nature.

When struggling to fall asleep, don’t count sheep. It doesn’t work (in fact, it makes matters worse). Instead, take yourself on a mental walk in familiar surroundings – in a park, forest, or by the beach. Visualize the walk in as much detail as possible – using all senses. Doing this helps take your mind off things and lets you fall asleep because you stop overthinking.

Why it helps:
If you’re struggling to fall asleep, a detailed mental walk offers an effective way to relax the mind and body. It can help reduce stress and anxiety, and create an ideal mental state for falling asleep.
