Transferring into the new, chilly season
Ending summer may make you feel sad – but welcoming autumn with the right tools (and actually turning it into a cosy process!) could easily change that feeling.
It may seem like we just had all summer ahead of us. Endless sleep-ins, barbeque nights and easy days with friends and family. Hopefully you’ve collected many new wonderful memories, as we are now approaching a new season. And as some prefer to see it, a fresh start and a clean slate to set new routines. The fact is, we couldn’t agree more.
Go for yellow and wine-red
The transformation into autumn, with its fresh, crispy air and chilly temperatures, gets easier if it’s done with the right tools. Make sure to clean out the summer essentials and make room for autumn accessories. Cosy blankets, warm, knitted socks and soft flannel sheets are excellent examples. If you wish to stay in style while redecorating, this seasons go-to colours are yellow (in any shade!), wine-red and terracotta. Conveniently, these on-trend colours go really well with basic ones, such as grey and dark green.
18 is a magic number
As you prepare for the new season, make sure you raise the inside temperature as the weather gets colder. Just don’t go too high: the optimum condition for sleep is 16-18°C. Since your body temperature decreases as you fall asleep, a cool bedroom will not only help you shut your eyes but also improve your sleep. Of course, everyone is different and you should find your perfect temperature, but this is a good start.
